Fast and painless
„Tooth extraction is a common procedure for our experienced dentists. It is a painless and fast routine procedure, so there is nothing you should worry about!“
Our team of doctors always give professional advice to our patients and raise consciousness about the importance of adequate oral hygiene, and they also provide all the necessary information about the modern aspects that dental medicine can offer.
1. PAINLESS PROCEDURE
Sometimes when the tooth is damaged or the infection is too extensive to ‘save’ the tooth with conservative dentistry, the tooth needs to be extracted.
The procedure is fast, safe and painless.
In most cases tooth extractions are simple, but there are some cases where the teeth are too damaged or trapped in the bone. This is when surgical extractions are done.
Local anesthesia is always applied, and a slight sense of discomfort can occur once it eases down.
Once the patient has felt certain health problems and disturbances, it is necessary to book an appointment with his/her dentist, define diagnosis and determine whether tooth extraction is necessary. Our Clinic offers free check-up and consultation, so book your appointment with our experts now!
2. WHEN IS TOOTH EXTRACTION NEEDED?
Apart from extracting damaged or broken teeth, teeth are also extracted because of:
Cavity has damaged the tooth and its root
The crown of the tooth is damaged
Teeth have progressive periodontal problems- wobbly teeth
Teeth with root fracture
Severe inflammation of the bone around the tooth (granuloma and cysts)
Teeth do not have enough stability for prosthetic replacement
Orthodontic problems (lack of space in oral cavity)
Impacted or malpositioned wisdom teeth
Tooth loss prevention is the basic starting point in modern dentistry. Unfortunately, extraction is inevitable in certain cases. Tooth is extracted when different types of treatment have not been successful and have resulted in complete deterioration.
3. AFTER TOOTH EXTRACTION….
Do not touch the wound. Avoid brushing the wound at least 24 hours after the extraction. Avoid smoking for at least 24 hours. Avoid rinsing the wound for 24 hours after the procedure.
A slight sense of discomfort is perfectly normal and expected, especially after local anesthesia eases down. Painkillers are recommended, but if the pain starts growing, contact your dentist immediately.
To minimize or prevent swelling, keep an ice pack pressed on the outer part of your face for at least 12 hours after the procedure.
We would recommend cold food and beverages, ice- cream or yogurt, as well as softer food. If you notice anything unusual, contact us immediately!
